One note on this particular section of the series: The book mentions Darwin’s work with worms. This was a renown study he did using the scientific method (hypothesize, experiment, observe, and form conclusions from the observable data). Among his discoveries was the earthworm’s role in soil formation (rock weathering), aerating the soil, and increasing the amount of topsoil. Healthy soil will have a large number of earthworms! And, according to Darwin, soil develops very quickly with the assistance of those worms. While considering various options to address his inclusion in a Christian nature study book, we decided to leave it stand as is. We have always used these opportunities for discussion where appropriate.
We hope you will enjoy this free earthworm lesson!
