Just in time for Christmas, The Children’s Book of Christmas Stories edited by Asa Don Dickinson and Ada M. Skinner provides 35 Christmas tales for you to read aloud.
Many librarians have felt the need and expressed the desire for a select collection of children’s Christmas stories in one volume. This book claims to be just that and nothing more.
Each of the stories has already won the approval of thousands of children, and each is fraught with the true Christmas spirit.
It is hoped that the collection will prove equally acceptable to parents, teachers, and librarians.
Asa Don Dickinson
The Children’s Book of Christmas Stories includes short stories and Christmas tales from larger works suitable for young and old readers alike including those by :
- Dickens.
- Andersen.
- Susan Coolidge.
- Katherine Pyle.
- Olive Thorne Miller.
- Eldridge S. Brooks.
- And an adaptation from the Bible.
Stories that would be more suitable for younger readers or older readers are both marked.
While some may object to only reading small passages of longer tales (like The Christmas Carol by Dickens), if time is short, this book may well come in handy nonetheless.
We will be adding this to our Christmas Holiday Helps.
Great collection. And free!
