Sometimes science can come alive through reading literature. If you are looking for such a series, you might enjoy the Wonders of Creation series published by Master Books.
Update: Wonders of Creation Series {Updated}
Each book is full of information and written in an engaging and easy-to-understand style. Although they will be enjoyed by all ages, these wonderfully illustrated hardback titles are geared to the middle grades.
Exploring science during the younger years should be informal. By including hands-on activities and kits, keeping it simple early can whet the appetite for formal science during high school. Science as a discipline needs the math to back it up. In the meantime, kids’ scientific interests can be encouraged and fed, developing scientific curiosity and avoiding burnout.
