There are many families who around this time of year make the decision to educate their children at home. They use the time off for Christmas to pull together a plan to finish the year and look ahead to the new year.
We’ve added a recommended reading list that we hope will help these families get their feet under them. Whether you are new to homeschooling, or looking for new ideas, these are those books out of the dozens and dozens we have read that had sticking power. These are those titles we went back to repeatedly for fresh encouragement.
If we had to pick just one book to recommend it would be For the Children’s Sake by Susan Schaeffer Macaulay. There is no counting the number of times this gem has been mined. It really was the beginning of finding our way.
Some of these books are increasingly difficult to find — we stand by them nonetheless. We hope you will find something that will inspire you as much as it did us!
