M is for Matchbox Advent Calendar from Martha Stewart is such a cute craft! It isn’t too difficult, and children will love it!
You need 24 matchboxes, red paper, acrylic paint, and ribbon. That’s it!
As each drawer is pulled out on the appropriate day of December, it is put back in reversed. Then the image painted on the matchboxes shows.
The drawers can be filled with small treats and notes as suggested; or verses, clues to a scavenger hunt, or even the symbols of Christmas used in this Christmas symbols unit study.
A fun project for the entire family!
We’ve added this craft to our Christmas Holiday Helps page, where you’ll find many other Christmas handicrafts and activities.
