Suggestions
Ask your children to do one or more of the following:
- There are fifty poems. Read one each day for Christmas advent. This will obviously have you covered for two years. Then repeat!
- Another option is to cover one poem each week in December through Christmas. You can read it more than once in the week for greater appreciation. In this case, the book will last a lifetime.
- One day of the week ask for an oral narration.
- Another day of the week might be a description and illustration.
- For other options, see our 30 narration ideas.
- Many of these poems will be recognized as Christmas carols. Check the Additional Resources below for musical options.
