Summer Fun Activity: Explore the Ocean

Summer is a great time to explore the ocean! It is not often that you get first-hand side-by-side help from a homeschool veteran in creating your own DIY unit! In the June 2013 edition of The Old Schoolhouse Magazine, Jessica Hulcy, creator of KONOS unit study curriculum, walks you through designing your own ocean unit study.

You’ll understand how vast the ocean is, explore the different species of ocean life, learn about the “grass of the ocean,” dissect a fish, explore the different ways ocean life eats and protects itself, read a recommended book, watch a recommended movie, take a field trip, write a report, fish, cook — and any other interests you add.

A summer fun activity that can be a growing experience for you, and educational for your child!
