It’s summer. And what can be more fun (at least for the young people in your life) than camping! Camping: A Complete Unit Study is a free unit study written by Paula Miller that originally appeared in Home School Enrichment Magazine.
The unit covers math, science, Bible, reading, and writing.
Activities include:
- Documenting the types of trees encountered and keeping a tree notebook.
- Calculating the height of a tree.
- Examining pond water.
- Using a compass,
- Going on a treasure hunt.
- Identifying birds.
- Exploring the different techniques of campfire building.
- Journaling.
- Many others.
No, we don’t want our camping trip turning into a “schooly” affair. But summer camping is a great opportunity to keeping ’em learning!
