Helps for New Homeschoolers Series

Our Helps for New Homeschoolers series offers thoughts and encouragement to those new to homeschooling. I wrote this series when we were finishing up our homeschool journey. And in the years since it remains a favorite. Now updated.

These are the things it is easy to lose focus on in the midst of the day-to-day. Yes, you need books. But educating your children at home is an opportunity like no other.

If we had the opportunity to do it all over again, we’d do it all over again. These are the things we would likely give more focus (and are covered in this series):

  • What to do with criticism.
  • Isolating those things that are really important…and identifying those that are not.
  • Curriculum. (There is an entire book that could be written on that one. But the key is knowing you will not find THE right books.)
  • Finding your own way, because there is only one right way for you.
  • And not letting a minute go by that you are not thankful for the gift of those children!

From our heart to yours. Enjoy!
