The Iditarod, March 7, 2021
The Iditarod 2021 race will be a bit different. For the first time in history the Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race will not end in Nome, Alaska, due to Covid-19. We have updated our Iditarod unit study and resources for the 2021 race.
This year the race will begin and end in Willow. You will find a link to the 2021 race map in our suggested unit resources.
We have also included links to a very beautiful coloring set and a 2021 musher race tracking form.
In addition, students can pick their favorite musher, plot the trail, follow the leaders, and learn more about sled dogs and the great state of Alaska.
You will also find background history on the race and the dogs used, along with other maps, forms, charts, drawing lessons, unit studies, lesson plans, activities, and printables. There are also links to several excellent educational interactive games (Flash may be required).
