Here is a great deal for those interested in using the Exploring series from New Leaf Press! Exploring the World of Physics: From Simple Machines to Nuclear Energy by John Tiner is only $2.99 for the eBook version! If you don’t have a Kindle you can still read the book on your computer or another device.
We love this series and used it as the base for our middle school science. John Hudson Tiner is our favorite author in the series.
Exploring the World of Physics covers:
- The laws of motion.
- Simple machines.
- States of matter.
- Nuclear energy.
There is also a chapter devoted to the future of physics and topics such as cold fusion, faster-than-light communication, matter transmission and replication, nanotechnology, and cryogenic research.
Sidebars go into some subjects (and people) more in depth. A bibliography offers ideas for further reading.
Each chapter includes three problem questions to start a student thinking, three problem solutions at the end, and a series of questions at the end of each chapter for review. (We recommend using these as oral or written narration prompts.) Answers are in the back of the book.
In addition to written narrations for each chapter, we also suggest creating a notebook to hold:
Exploring the World of Physics is a great science option — and right now you can pick it up for only $2.99!
