This collection of 31 short stories makes a great read-aloud for young and old alike.
Works include those by authors:
- Harriet Beecher Stowe.
- Elbridge Streeter Brooks, writer of histories and biographies used by many homeschool families.
- Nathaniel Hawthorne.
- George Eliot.
- Eugene Field.
- Mrs. Alfred Gatty, author of Parables from Nature.
- And many others.
Not all of the stories will fit every family. Use the short note at the beginning of each story to help you select ones suited to your children. The table of contents also denotes whether a story will be more enjoyed by younger or older children.
