Are you looking for a good children’s cookbook?  Look no further!

Betty Crocker’s Cook Book for Boys and Girls, published in 1957, is a valuable resource that includes far more than basic recipes a child may be able to handle.

Cooking is an adventure, as you’ll find out when you use these recipes….

Contents include special cooking (special treats, occasions, and interesting concoctions), campfire cooking, breakfast recipes, lunch or supper recipes, dinner recipes, and rules — such as safety, measuring and cooking terms.

The recipes are not limited to those we might expect when the audience is young people.  Included are recipes for French toast, eggnog, pigs in a blanket, potato salad, Swedish meatballs, apple crisp, and an Eskimo igloo cake!

Instructions and tips are included throughout, such as how to set a table, proper table manners, making and spreading icing, and how to cut a cabbage.

You’ll also find a few advertisements.  😉

Betty Crocker’s Cook Book for Boys and Girls is one of the better children’s cookbooks we’ve seen and definitely worth the price — free!
